We invite you to join us in supporting our dear friends and long-time Orcas Islanders, Jennifer and Sebastian Posada. Jen and Seb are on a healing journey with Lyme, and they need our help to defray the costs of treatment. After exhausting literally all other options, they are sharing their story and fundraising via GoFundMe: Help Jennifer and Sebastian Heal from Lyme
This fundraiser is very personal to us. We want to help Jen and Seb heal from Lyme for many reasons – to support our friends to thrive, to listen when a call for help goes out in the community, to remove financial barriers that are keeping our friends’ brilliance from fully shining in a time when their work in the world is sorely needed. Perhaps most especially, we want to help Jen and Seb because they helped our son heal from Lyme.
Our son was 18 months old when we found a tick on his scalp, and it was terrifying and utterly overwhelming when we learned that the tick had tested positive for Lyme. We reached out to Jen in our shell-shocked state, and she responded with incredible compassion. She supported us both emotionally and logistically with all she had learned on her and Seb’s journey with Lyme, and got us connected immediately to the best resources for our baby.
We cannot underscore enough how incredibly precious this was – for a dear trusted person to guide us through the dizzying maze of the modern medical system. Simply put, it was incredible. In large part thanks to Jen’s guidance, our son healed quickly and avoided what could have been an extremely serious long-term health issue. Now we want the same for Jen and Seb – to fully heal from Lyme!
They have done a remarkable job getting this far in their healing journey, and we urge you to join us in supporting these integral community members. Contributions of any amount and sharing the fundraiser with your networks would mean so much to all of us on the fundraiser team: Help Jennifer and Sebastian Heal from Lyme
Thank you very much for considering a donation. Here’s to vibrant health and mutual aid!
