||| FROM SAM GAILEY for ORCAS PUBLIC LIBRARY |||

Join the Dementia Friendly Orcas Workgroup on February 29, from 2-3pm at the Orcas Island Public Library to learn about dementia and the resources available on Orcas for those experiencing, or caregiving for someone with, dementia.

This will be followed by community conversation for those looking to connect with others on this topic, with Heidi Bruce and Ingrid Mattson leading this session. The Dementia Friendly Orcas Workgroup is a group of cross-community volunteers striving to engage all sectors of our community in understanding the scope and impact of memory loss and dementia on our island.

Members of the workgroup represent members from business, faith, health, nonprofits, and the County, along with caregivers and those experiencing dementia. To learn more about the DFO Workgroup, visit https://www.orcaslibrary.org/dementia-friendly-orcas.
