Friday, October 21, 7:30 p.m., Benson Hall
— from Sharon Abreu —
On Friday, October 21 at 7:30 pm, songwriter-guitarist-singer extraordinaire James Lee Stanley returns to Orcas for an intimate concert in Benson Hall, located in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church building in Eastsound, just to the right of the sanctuary.
Admission: Sliding Scale $12-$25
James Lee Stanley brings great musicianship and humor to his concerts. He makes a six-string guitar sound like an orchestra. James has toured consistently since he returned from the USAF (as a Chinese linguist) and has performed up to 300 dates a year since then, with such diverse acts as Bonnie Raitt and Robin Williams. James is credited in Tom Robbins’ book Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. James can be seen (in the flesh or heavily made-up) in many episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9, including appearing as a singing Klingon. His concerts make for a very entertaining evening.
