— from the Orcas Island Food Bank Board —
There are some items needed at the Orcas Island Food Bank that we thought the community might be able to help restock. Those items are condiments of all kinds (family-size, not commercial-size containers) and packaged side dish items such as Hamburger Helper, Rice-a-Roni, etc. We are also in need of canned meats of any kind such as spam, deviled ham, corned beef hash and chicken. We do have a sufficient supply of tuna.
Others items that are quite appreciated by our clients are the sample-size soaps, conditioners, lotions and toothpaste you often acquire during your travels. If you don’t know what to do with them, bring them to the Food Bank!
Items may be left any time in the box on the north side of the Food Bank building located at 176 Madrona Street next to the Community Church. Or you can drop them off in person when the Food Bank is open (Tuesday 12:30-2:00, Thursday 5:30-6:30). We can take items up to two years after “best by” date.
Questions? Feel free to contact our Food Bank Manager, Jeannie Doty at 360-376-4701. Additional information and open times are available on our web site: www.orcasislandfoodbank.org.
