The Camino de Santiago is a network of walking trails through western Europe that all lead to Santiago de Compostela, an ancient city in northwest Spain where St. James is believed by many to be entombed in the Cathedral.

A pilgrimage route for Christians for over 1,000 years, the Camino has now become a popular expedition for people of all faiths and none. Today, people walk for many different reasons: adventure, taking a break, soul-searching, or resolving personal trauma. Often, the experiences people have reward them with new perspectives and a connection with the community of pilgrims with whom they have shared this journey.

Nancy Reas and Kathi Anderson, two islanders who have completed the Camino, are hosting a talk and video presentation on their experiences as pilgrim and hospitalero. If you have walked or are curious about making the pilgrimage, please join us on Sunday, July 25, 7 p.m. in Emmanuel Parish Hall. No RSVP is required.
