— from Toby Brown —
We had a great turnout at the Farmers Market with people bringing bags of towels. Many locals came by and several island visitors. One lady donated the three towels and leash she had in her car, albeit wet from a visit to Mt. Lake.
Pawkis was gracious to accept donations for three days.
We shipped five dog crates packed with towels on Thursday to south Texas for distribution from Houston to Corpus Christi. Two other crates are waiting to ship due the tremendous outpouring of support and limited space at the Austin shelter. Total weight for the seven crates came in at 556 pounds.
Thank you Orcas for helping keep the tails waggin’.
Stay tuned……we will need to support 10 new island residents very soon.

Check in with the Orcas Animal Shelter as they are helping to empty the south Texas shelters to make room for rescues. The have 10 dogs for adoption and fostering.
Thank you so much Toby for taking action and making this happen.
