— Open to all Orcas Photographers
— from Martin Taylor —
There will be a photography show at the Orcas Center in December. Work will be hung in the lobby and the Madrona Room. The show’s theme is “Life on Orcas.” All Orcas Island photographers are invited to submit work for the show. There will be some dramatic centerpiece keynote pieces in the lobby featuring new work by local photographers Derk Jager and Martin Taylor.
Intake for the show is Wednesday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All submissions should be mounted and ready to hang. They can include traditional framed photographs, stretched canvases or other mounting techniques. But all work should have a secure hanging wire ready to mount the work on the wall. Artists can submit up to four pieces but if there is a lot of work submitted then the first choice pieces will be taken from each artist.
There will be an opening reception Friday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. The opening reception will include live music, food and drink including a ‘no host’ bar with wine and beer.
The show will be taken down on Monday December 29. All contributing artists should arrange to have their work collected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day.
Come and enjoy Orcas Center‘s theater and music and take in the photography show while you are there.
