Territorial Voices: A Civil War Reader’s Theater interactive presentation
The Orcas Island Historical Museum is delighted to welcome back Lorraine McConaghy, public historian, teacher and author.
As part of the Humanities Washington program, Lorraine has created a participatory, living theater piece in which audience members take on the characters of ordinary settlers, territory military and administrative leaders. Through the presentation, participants will learn of the changing significance of terms like “Democrat” and “Republican”, and learn about aspects of race and slavery in our state over 150 years ago.
This will be a great learning experience for students, and anyone interested in Washington History.
