For islanders who are still using cloth masks in higher risk situations: the County Health Department is making higher quality N95 and KN95 masks available to the public at no charge. They may be obtained at the following locations while supplies last:
- Lopez Island – Lopez Island Pharmacy & Lopez Island Family Resource Center (During hours of operation)
- Orcas Island – Island Market, Orcas Food Co-op & Ray’s Pharmacy (During hours of operation)
- San Juan Island – Friday Harbor Drug, Kings Market and MarketPlace (During hours of operation)
Note that for the use of the general public there is no significant difference between N95 and KN95 masks. Both provide a much higher level of protection (to both the wearer and those in proximity to the wearer) than cloth masks.
EverlyWell COVID-19 test kit expiration dates extended by one year!
In late December, San Juan County Health & Community Services distributed several thousand EverlyWell COVID-19 Home test kits. The expiration date for ALL of those kits has been extended by one year.
