— from Orcas Issues Staff —
Orcas Issues, the Voice of the Orcas Community, has news for you every day of the year. And we do it on a shoestring budget with the support of our readers and loyal advertisers.
We maintain a full-time+ editor and four at-large reporters: Susan McBain, Matthew Gilbert, Deborah Sparks, and Minor Lile. We are also blessed with some popular weekly columns from Steve Henigson (Orcasional Musings,) Rosie Kuhn (Aging Like a Guru), and, occasionally, Maurice Austin (Flotsam & Jetsam). Top that all off with stellar book reviews from Jens Kruse (Kruse Reviews).
And our supporters receive our Daily Digest newsletter each evening summing up the day’s news.
There is more we want to do, however. Under consideration are a Classified Ad section, a redesign of the site to make it more user-friendly, and perhaps adding a bookkeeper to our staff.
So when looking for that perfect holiday gift for someone you love, or like, or just know — or even your very own self — we encourage you to consider a subscription to Orcas Issues. For just $10 a month, it’s a gift that continues to give every day of the year for our whole community.
Help sustain Orcas Island’s most lively and informative online news source.

Happy holidays to all of you kind folks, (including Margie)! You do a great job of informing the community about important local issues.
Right on, Michael! Thanks to all involved with OI. It is as much a part of my life as is the New York Times. Thanks, Lin et al.
We like the up-to-date info from our home place and watch for the e-mail each evening. Being snow birds, we are able to keep informed about all the goings on we would miss without Orcas Issues.
Merry Christmas to the staff and thank you. Change is good and Happy New Year 2020
