The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind
Warning… which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 9 am PDT
Friday.

* Timing… tonight. Peak winds speeds are expected from late this
evening through the overnight hours.

* Winds… south and southeast winds 25 to 35 mph, with gusts
around 45 to 50 mph.

* Impacts… this will be the first wind event of this magnitude
this season. Impacts such as tree damage are typically greater
for an event of this magnitude when it is the first event of
the season. Prepare for tree damage and scattered power outages.
Many of the wind-related deaths in western Washington occur when
trees topples onto people in cars.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A High Wind Warning is being issued due to the enhanced threat to
life and property that often comes with the first wind event of
the fall season.
