A Senior Project by Forest Frausto — Supporting generations of Viking athletes

||| FROM FOREST FRAUSTO |||

In 2020 the school track was installed and in 2022 I helped start Orcas Island’s first track and field team.  Helping start this team, seeing it flourish, and watching my classmates run track has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve been a part of.

That is why for my senior project I will be raising money for the track team. We have the basics to get by, though additional equipment is required before we can host a home meet.  For example, we only have enough hurdles for one lane, so we can not run a race.  I run the hurdles and this would be really special for me because for the first year we had no hurdle coach and not one real hurdle. This year there are more than 50 Viking athletes working hard all season but the community never gets to see what they are doing. With this equipment the middle school will be able to host meets in the future also. If you would like to donate to buy equipment for the team you will receive your name/business on the equipment – If you want to learn more about why I am so passionate about track click here Track
