Good soil is an important ingredient in the recipe for strong, healthy plants.

Dr. Craig Cogger, a soil scientist from WSU will be at the Orcas Center at 10 a.m. on Apr. 19 to join the Garden Club in a talk about healthy soil.

Dr. Cogger has had extensive experience in managing organic nutrients in the soil. Organic farming systems, use of animal manure, biosolids and composts in agriculture and urban landscapes are topics well known to him.
