The Healing Arts Center is excited to announce the arrival of our newest member and massage therapist, Patrick Stockstill. Patrick and his family are recent arrivals on Orcas Island, though he brings with him almost 15 years of experience as a massage therapist and bodyworker. He is an Esalen® Massage teacher and practitioner, and a Deep Bodywork® practitioner with over 1000 hours of training in several modalities. At the Healing Arts Center, Patrick sees adult clients seeking to cultivate embodied awareness and self-healing through touch.
In addition to his private bodywork practice, Patrick leads introductory retreats and courses in Esalen Massage. Esalen Massage, developed in Big Sur, California since the 1960s, is a bodywork practice that aims to bring the recipient into greater states of self awareness through safe, attuned touch and movement. It is characterized by long, flowing strokes and full body integration — sometimes described as the feeling of deeply returning to yourself.
