Gov. Jay Inslee will promote Washington’s talented workforce and speak about state efforts on the innovation economy and climate change at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland next week.

Inslee is scheduled to speak on several panels including one on “Governing Advanced Technologies: Environment and the Earth,” and a panel on “Stepping up on Climate Action” hosted by former Vice President Al Gore. Inslee is also scheduled to hold a press briefing Jan. 25 with leaders from around the world including the former executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Christiana Figueres.

Inslee is the only U.S. governor scheduled to attend the event. Inslee previously attended WEF events in San Francisco and New York City in 2017. Live video streams may be available for the panels, and they will be shared from the governor’s office when possible.

The governor departs the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 23 and returns the morning of Friday, Jan. 26.
