“Fancy Fronds! Everything you want to know about hardy ferns” will be the topic by Judith Jones at the May Garden Club Meeting.

Judith’s collegiate obsession with the Victorian period led to a fascination with the wide world of ferns, an affliction from which she has never recovered.  She keeps 100 cultivars of temperate ferns in her Fancy Fronds nursery in Gold Bar, near Stevens Pass. In August, the nursery has their annual “Frolic” Open House. You can enjoy the nursery on the Skykomish River in the height of summer while browsing rare plants and hand crafted art. It is August 8, 2015, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It sounds like a nice day trip for those of us who like to visit garden nurseries.

Judith will be bringing plants to sell at the meeting of the Garden Club, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10 a.m., in the Madrona Room at Orcas Center. For more information, see orcasislandgardenclub.org.
