— from Emilie Gincig for Funhouse Commons —

Funhouse Commons Summer Camp is starting on Monday, Jun. 26, and this year we are involving more art. Brook Meinhardt (the Cardboard Camp creator), Lana Hickman, and Robyn Gordon, artists that teach art at the public school through the A-OK program throughout the school year, will be working with Funhouse kids twice a week all summer long. This art program will take place at the public high school art room.

The supervised camp program, which takes place at the Funhouse, incorporates learning, outdoor play, and hands-on involvement with organized sports and games, science projects, trips to the beach, and more.

Camp is from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays during the summer. Pre-registration is required. Head to www.funhousecommons.org for more information, and email Emilie at Emilie@thefunhouse.org or call (360) 376-7177 to pre-register.

Founded by generous members of the Orcas Island community in 2000, The Funhouse Commons is a 501(c)3 non- profit community center with hands-on science exhibits, multi-media labs, art studio, recording studio, climbing wall and much more. The Funhouse Commons also provides essential Teen, After School, Education and Mentor programs for the youth of Orcas Island.
