Our 2018 featured exhibit showcases 75 historical Eastsound images from the Museum’s archives.
Photos of Eastsound marks over 120 years of change in the life and spirit of Eastsound on Orcas Island. The exhibit traces the dramatic evolution from an expanse of orchards in the 1890s, to the commercial center of Orcas that it is today. Visitors will have a chance see the people, culture, and places that have made Eastsound a vibrant community in which to live, work, and to visit. Visitors will also have a chance to vote for their favorite photograph and the winning photo will be honored at the conclusion of the exhibit. Photos of Eastsound is also a chance for the Museum to survey and expand its collection of photos. By presenting our collection to the community, we hope to identify gaps and build a fuller and more cohesive representation of Eastsound for generations to come.
The exhibit will run May 12 – September 30, 2018
Starting May 12th the Museum’s hours will be:
Tuesday – Saturday, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
