Sunday, September 1, 1 – 4 p.m., Kaj Dawg Farm

— from Debra O’Conner —

With the community’s greater awareness of paddle board safety issues, a local paddling group is offering an opportunity to observe and participate in paddle board safety and rescues practice on Sunday Sept. 1 from 1-4  p.m. It will be held at Kaj Dawg Farm, 141 Cadden Lane, in a wonderfully warm pond.

If you paddle board, kayak or enjoy being by the water you may eventually need to help yourself or someone else be rescued back onto a board. Come and observe and try out rescue techniques in a safe environment with experienced paddlers. Open to the public and free of charge.

Paddle boards, personal floatation devices and leashes are available for use during demonstrations. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful farm environment with your community.
