||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS |||

Flu season is around the corner, and it is time to start making plans to receive your annual flu vaccine. Health and Community Services (HCS) is finalizing their plans to offer free flu vaccines for all children and adults who are uninsured or underinsured. Someone is considered underinsured if their insurance plan does not cover the cost of the flu vaccination. Specific clinic details will be posted on www.sanjuanco.com/flu by Oct 3.

Through the Vaccines For Children program, HCS is able to offer free flu vaccines (and other routine vaccinations) to all children of San Juan County. Children aged 6 months through 18 years are welcome at the all-ages clinics. There will be clinics held at schools as well.

The biggest change this year is that HCS will not be able to offer vaccine to adults with insurance that covers the cost of vaccine, including Medicaid and Medicare. If your insurance covers the cost of vaccine and you are over the age of 18, please reach out to your medical provider or local pharmacy to schedule your flu vaccination appointment.
