Sunday October 28, 1:30-5 p.m. at the Westsound Community Hall

Eating small amounts of lacto-fermented foods every day dramatically improves digestion, restores the gut, and will greatly improve your health! Come learn the how’s, why’s, and advantages of this ancient food preservation technique, with instructors Ulanah McCoy and Regina Zwilling.

This class will focus on creative and delicious variations to your basic Sauerkraut recipe. We’ll also discuss history, various methods, and the health benefits of many types of fermented foods including vegetables, grain, dairy and more!

For the hands-on portion of the class we will get down to business and all make raw Kraut together! We’ll go beyond basic Sauerkraut and give everyone some new variations to try at home. Everyone takes home a quart of ‘Creative Kraut’ from the class. Cabbage, jars, and other ingredients are provided as part of the class fee.

Cost: $30. Limited scholarships and/or work-trade opportunities available upon inquiry. Please RSVP. For questions or to sign up please contact Learner Limbach at 376-4048, and foodmasters.orcas@gmail.com.
