— from Kathy Youngren for Visual Arts Committee —
It has been forever since the beautiful and often useful art of our Island’s weavers, quilters, knitters, felters and seamstresses has been on display at Orcas Center. The Visual Arts committee is thrilled to present this beautiful show throughout the Month of March.
We are still looking for more of these beautiful fiber creations. If you have any questions, please call Kathy Youngren, 360 472 0824 or Janis Mattox , 360 376 3778.
Also, if you might be interested in giving a demonstration during the Opening Reception, let us know.
The feature artist is weaver Geoff Shilling with his beautiful hand woven images made on a Jacquard Loom. His images include Northwest landscapes, bridges, birds and trees and are mounted on wooded frames to be hung like paintings
INTAKE FOR THE FIBER ART SHOW: March 4th, 10:30-12:30
Please bring ideas and supplies needed to display the work. We will hang as many pieces as possible, depending on space available.
OPENING RECEPTION: MARCH 6th, 5:30 to 7:00
We hope to have all of the artists, their friends, family members and everyone interested in seeing these beautiful creations. Artists are encouraged to bring finger foods to share with our guests.
