August 7 – 11, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall
— from The Rev. Berto Gándara-Perea, Rector, Emmanuel Episcopal Church —
When Jesus spread his message of love and compassion he used meals and stories to build a community that would live out his message. Join us in this cooking and storytelling day camp for children sponsored by Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Kids Cook! (like real chefs) Like to cook? Like to eat? Learn cooking from chef’s Denis Baker and Marja Murray. Then eat it up. You’ll learn kitchen tricks – ways to slice and dice and mix – that you can use at home with different ingredients to make many tasty treats.
Kids also love stories! Storyteller Antoinette Botsford draws from the story the Conference of the Birds to lead participants in a wonderful journey through storytelling, creative projects, and labyrinth walks to mirror the story they will share.
