We are delighted to share news that several local community collaboratives are hosting month-long learning, making, and celebration events in the San Juan Islands. Each island has it’s own unique calendar of events and a shared goal of increasing respect and protection for our home planet and islands. “Protect this Place!”
Orcas Island Events, Apr 5th – 12th
Parade costume & prop workshops, Sat Apr. 5 and Sun. Apr 6
Sessions are at West Sound Community Hall on the 5th, 11-3. Odd Fellows Hall on 6th, 1-4. Bring your own materials for open studio, or gather from donated supplies on hand. Salmon and orca kits.

Half-day workshop invites the Orcas Island community to create a safe space for acknowledging our feelings about the state of our world and reconnecting with our love for Earth and each other. Hosted by Erin Quies Wild, 10-2pm.
Climate COMPASS learning circles, Apr. 8th at Episcopal Parish Hall, 3:30pm
Join fellow islanders in a small group, hands-on learning circle that expands climate impact and solution awareness. Pertains to right here, at home. Community reponses feed into the Community Development Plan revision process. Hosted by The Madrona Institute. 3:30-5:30, followed by a free community soup service.

Farm Talks: Regenerative Soil Building, Sat. Apr 12th at Rising Oak Farm and Neighbors
Discover soil building and enrichment options practiced on Orcas to help amend your garden or farm. Innovative worm nest food compost model, natural farming microbe benefits – all practices you can scale to your home or farm. Meet-up at Rising Oak Farm at 1pm.

- Earth Day Parade and Earth Day Eco Fair with Community Dance, April 26th.
