On Sunday, July 29 at approximately 8:05 a.m., a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling at a high rate of speed, southbound on Cattle Point Rd. when it struck the backend of a van travelling in the same direction.
The passenger in the Jetta was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated by the San Juan Fire Department. The passenger was then transported to the PeaceIsland Emergency Room where he was treated for his injuries. The driver was arrested for Vehicular Assault.
An investigation is currently underway.
