The San Juan County Department of Emergency Management is teaming up with Orcas Center, OPALCO, and Orcas Island Fire & Rescue to host a community disaster preparedness forum on Wednesday May 22nd from 5:30 – 7:00pm at Orcas Center (917 Mt. Baker Road).
The goal for the event is to use science, experience, common sense, and practical info to reassure and educate islanders! There are a lot of scary things in the world these days, but hopefully we can have a conversation that leaves everyone feeling better and more secure (at least about this one thing)! Speakers will present a little bit of info at the beginning, then lots of time for Q&A with the audience.
