Saturday, March 18 6 p.m., Odd Fellows Hall

— from Gretchen Krampf —

Join San Juan County Democrats and Our Revolution as we host Martha Korester, PhD in a community update on the efforts for “Defending Healthcare for All” on Saturday, Mar. 18 at 6 p.m. at Odd Fellows Hall, followed by a potluck supper, and Action Team Huddles.

Martha Koester is the chair of Health Care for All – Washington (HCFA-WA). She is also on the board of the 34th legislative district’s Democratic Central Committee and the former chair of the 11th legislative district’s DNC. Martha has testified before the WA State Health Care Wellness Committee in support of HB 1085 to Establish Single Payer Health Care in the state of Washington. She is active on healthcare issues nationally and recently attended the New York City Single-payer Strategy Conference.

As an advocate, Martha states “Laws and budgets reflect our moral values as citizens. Our civic values are rooted in the traditional idea that we are all created equal, and that we institute governments to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The very concept of for-profit health insurance flatly contradicts these values. https://www.healthcareforallwa.org/

Our Revolution’s Mission is to “reclaim democracy for the working people of our country by harnessing the transformative energy of the “political revolution.” Through supporting a new generation of progressive leaders, empowering millions to fight for progressive change and elevating the political consciousness, Our Revolution will transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families.”
