A number of reports of island roads are being impacted by the heavy rainfall.

ORCAS:

  1. Killebrew Lake Road is CLOSED East of Laporte Road (see photo). Heavy rains have washed away the road. Use Dolphin Bay Rd to access East of Laporte Rd.
  2. There is damage to Mount Entrance Road in Olga. Only one lane is open, Public Works crews are placing safety cones.
  3. New road closure: Cormorant Bay Road on Orcas is closed due to washout, detour available via Lagoon.

Roads with water over roadway only are now passable as water recedes.

SAN JUAN:

  1. Bailer Hill Road is CLOSED near junction with False Bay Rd. due to water over the roadway. This water should recede by later in day.
  2. There is a report of some flooding on San Juan Valley Road between Douglas road and Schoolhouse road. Proceed with caution.

LOPEZ:

  1. There is about one foot of water over roadway near the intersection of Fisherman Bay Road and Bayshore Road, use alternate routes.

Reports from road crews are that water levels are diminishing. Drive with caution until things dry out.
