The San Juan County Council will hold its regular meeting on Orcas Island on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Eastsound Fire Hall, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Many county staff and elected officials will travel from San Juan Island to address the planned agenda which includes:

  • 10:30 a.m. Citizen’s Access Time
  • 10:45 a.m. — Public Hearing To Approve a Resolution and Order Regarding Petition for Formation of a Public Hospital District for Orcas Island Precincts 22, 23, 24 & 25 – Council
  • Discussion of Six Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) and Annual Construction Plan (2nd touch) – Russ Harvey, Director Public Works; Colin Huntemer, County Engineer
  • Action of Resolution for Overnight Road Closure in Eastsound – Russ Harvey, Director Public Works
  • Discussion of Eastsound Planning & Review Committee Update – Jeff Otis, EPRC Chair
  • Discussion and Update for Orcas Recycling Services – Pete Moe, Manager ORS
  • Council Members and County Manager (Mike Thomas) Update
  • Council Clerk (Ingrid Gabriel) Update
  • Orcas Montessori School Update – Teresa Chocano, Director Orcas Montessori School
