||| FROM DIDIER GINCIG for ODD FELLOWS HALL |||

The Odd Fellows Hall, one of the beloved and most-used facilities on Orcas Island, is in need of repairs and renovations. Safety-wise and aesthetically, the deck needs work immediately. The plan is to replace the decking with a wood alternative, re-do the handrail, and waterproof under the deck. As part of this project, the Odd Fellows lodge is seeking a grant from the Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) through the Spring GiveOrcas Campaign. Donations to the deck project can be made at www.GiveOrcas.org from May 8th to May 17th.

Unique Donor Day is May 10th–whichever group gets the most donations that day gets an extra $1,000. Ben Franklin Day is May 14. The organization who receives the most $100+ donations on that day wins an additional $1,000 from OICF. An individual can donate $100 that day as many times as they would like. Donations can also be made by cash, check, or stock transfer to The Orcas Island Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1496, Eastsound, WA 98245 or dropped by the OICF office at 33 Urner #4, Eastsound.

The Odd Fellows Lodge, Mt. Constitution Lodge #88 was built in 1891 and was rebuilt after a fire in the 1950s. Odd Fellows have contributed with service to the community for one hundred thirty three years. Orcas Island Community Foundation was founded in 1995 to help build and strengthen our community by encouraging and supporting local philanthropic efforts, connecting people and organizations who want to make a difference to improve the quality of life for all on Orcas Island.
