To support community members engaged in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, Compass Health is raising donations for its “Therapeutic Treatment Enhancement Funds.” These funds help clients access basic needs resources to remove roadblocks to recovery.
A unique link specifically for donations to Compass Health with matching for the first $1,000 is located here: https://sjicf.fcsuite.com/erp/
The campaign is part of the San Juan Island Community Foundation’s (SJICF) 2023 County Fair Giving Campaign, which invites community members to donate to local non-profits, including Compass Health, with the first $1,000 in donations being matched dollar-for-dollar by the Community Foundation. In total, Compass Health is hoping to raise $5,000.
“Therapeutic Treatment Enhancement Funds can play a key role in the success of individuals engaged in our mental health services,” said Ryan O’Donnell, director of outpatient services for Skagit, Island, and San Juan Counties at Compass Health. “These funds provide supplemental assistance to help clients overcome barriers they may be facing that are interfering with their ability to work on their mental wellness. We have seen individuals use them to help with things such as paying for their food handler permits or CPR/First Aid certifications to qualify for employment.”
Whether it is providing assistance to someone who has a transportation issue, someone who could use a little extra food during a particularly challenging week, or bolstering support with other basic needs, these small gestures can make a world of difference – and allow Compass Health clients to remain focused on their recovery goals.

Members of the community can donate in-person at the SJICF fair booth, online via a unique donation link for Compass Health, via phone at 360-378-1001, or by mailing a check payable to SJICF (dated between August 17 – 20) with Compass Health in the memo line to P.O.
