Community budget with Council Chair Justin Paulsen event scheduled Sept. 30 on Lopez

San Juan County Council Chair and District 2 representative Justin Paulsen is hosting “Community Budget with County Council Chair Justin Paulsen” – an opportunity to hear the outline of how the County budget works, ask questions, and discuss solutions together.

Topics planned for discussion include:

• Pressures related to the General Fund;
• Various revenue options; and
• Details and changes to the 2027 budget.

The upcoming gathering will take place on Lopez Island on Wednesday, September 30 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Lopez Island Library Community Room located at 2225 Fisherman Bay Road. This will be the final meeting of three held in the month of September. Paulsen met with community members on Orcas and San Juan Islands earlier in the month.

“I look forward to meeting with the community to discuss the County’s existing budget situation and the fiscal challenges that lie ahead. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and share your ideas and priorities regarding the 2027 budget building process and how your tax dollars are spent,” said Paulsen.
