Garden Club Holiday Tea with Cindy Morgan Orcas Island Garden Club will present its annual Holiday Tea in the Madrona Room of Orcas Center at 10 a.m.  Cindy Morgan, owner and creative artist of The Nest, will be the guest speaker.

Santa and Mrs Claus are coming to Country Corner! from 4 – 6pm. Please bring a nonperishable or cashdonation for the food bank. Photos will be provided by Country Corner and The Office Cupboard.

The San Juan County Land Bank Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on at the Craft Room, Mullis Community Senior Center, 589 Nash Street, Friday Harbor, San Juan Island. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Public comment time is scheduled for 9 a.m. The public is welcome at every monthly Land Bank Commission meeting. 370-7651.

Come out to Doe Bay Wine Tasting and Live Music. Enjoy favorite holiday food-friendly white and red wines selected by the Café’s Sommolier, Shannon Borg.  There will also be a sherry tasting, and a menu of small plates under $8.  The wine tasting is from 5-6:30 p.m. and will be followed by live music from Doe Bay Fest’s Ben Fisher, a talented young musician from Seattle, who will start at 7 p.m.  Make your dinner reservations at 360-376-8059.

Rodelinda by George Fredric Handel, airs Live from the NY Met  in High Definition at Orcas Center at 1 p.m. It stars Renée Fleming in one of her greatest roles and features the beautiful music of the Baroque era. Approximately 4 hours .Tickets are $15 for adults and $11 for students. $2 off for Orcas Center Members and may be purchased at www.orcascenter.org or by calling  376-2281 ext. 1 or visiting the Orcas Center Box Office open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon- 4 pm.

Orcas Brass Quintet- In the tradition of the Salvation Army’s kettle-ringer brass ensembles, five Orcas musicians have teamed up to play a selection of “Caroler’s Favorites” at the Community Church  at 2 p.m.  Everyone who enjoys classic Christmas music is welcome to come and sing along. (Song sheets will be provided). Admission is by free-will contribution to the  Orcas Island Food Bank.
