Here are some important dates to put on your calendar as we welcome Coast Salish artists and canoe journeyers to Orcas Island.
Friday, March 29, 5:30-7:00 PM in the Madrona Room at the Orcas Center – Opening reception of the Coast Salish Art Exhibit, From Time Immemorial, produced by Children of the Setting Sun. The event will feature a film screening and gallery opening showcasing some of the work of the Lummi people. This exhibit will run through April. Wednesday, May 22 – Gathering of the Eagles Canoe Journey
12:00 Begin setup for potluck at Olga Community Park (on grounds of Community Club)
1:30 Artisan setup at Olga Community Park
2:00 – 5:00 Arts and Culture Street Fair at Olga Community Park
3:00 Canoes arrive at Olga Dock (down the street from Olga Community Park)
5:00 Potluck for locals and native friends at Olga Community Park
(Locals – please bring a dish to share)
7:00 Cleanup
Please let us know how you would like to help on Wednesday, May 22, either with the setup/cleanup at the potluck, as an artisan vendor, or entertainer.
