The Orcas Choral Society’s Winter Concert, “The Joyous Sounds of Christmas” will be the last Christmas concert prepared under the direction of its Founder and Conductor Catherine Pederson.
The Choral Society will sing a variety of holiday, seasonal and sacred music, with guest appearances by Charly Robinson, Robin Gropp and Gene Nery.
Following intermission, John Rutter’s “Magnificat” will be sung by the choir, accompanied by a symphony of Orcas instrumentalists. Louellen McCoy, accompanist for the Choral Society for 25 years, will join Patty Johnson for an arrangement of “White Christmas.”
Performances will be Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Orcas Center.
Donations of non-perishable food for the Orcas Island Food Bank are gratefully accepted. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Orcas Center at 376-2281.
