This holiday season, we are thankful for history and new beginnings.

History
As we prepare to celebrate 50 years of early learning at Orcas Island Children’s House, we look back on our humble beginnings. The archives of our early days tell a story of a small group of parents who recognized an unmet need and organized the very first playgroup and co-op preschool for island children in 1969. Without these grassroots efforts, we would not be here today.

Over the years, we know that many of you have played a role in building and sustaining this special place for children. For that, we are truly grateful.

Story Time
Do you have a story to tell about Children’s House? If so, we would love to hear from you. With your help, we hope to collect these stories for a 50th anniversary tribute. If you have a personal story about Children’s House that you would like to share, please send us an email by clicking here and tell us your story.

New Beginnings
We are in the midst of a baby boom! In early 2020, Children’s House will open an infant care room, expanding our services to include infants once again. You can follow our progress on Facebook. Click here to find us in the OICF’s GiveOrcas Holiday Catalog and help us launch our Infant Care Room.

For all the ways you have supported Children’s House over the years, we are so thankful.

Wishing you all a warm holiday season with full bellies and many hugs.
