— from Doe Bay Resort & Retreat —
It only took a few years to build this Orcas music festival’s reputation
and the organizers of Doe Bay Fest wondered if the 10th annual might
be the last. It turns out that some traditions are just too good to let go.
This five-day festival is family-friendly and features music, food, camping, and activities in a gorgeous island setting. Multiple stages, beer gardens, kids’ activities, beaches, ocean-side hot tubs, and more!
General Admission Tickets for Doe Bay Fest 12, slated for August 7-11, 2019, are available at www.doebayfest.com.
With a willingness to think outside the box and no shortage of creative talent and scenic beauty, Doe Bay Fest at Doe Bay Resort & Retreat has become an anchor of the summer season on Orcas Island.
Tickets have historically sold out instantaneously but are now released in coordinated waves. Ticket and camping packages are available online at www.doebay.com, and there are also work-trade slots available by emailing doebayfestvolunteers@gmail.com.
Doe Bay Fest immediately gathered steam to go from a small happening in 2008 to become one of the most popular music festivals in the Pacific Northwest. Despite its remarkable reputation among bands and fans, Doe Bay Fest hasn’t grown in size. Doe Bay owner and festival producer, Joe Brotherton, decided early on that “capping attendance at about 1,000 people keeps the event an intimate affair which is part of the charm.” After Doe Bay Fest 3, Brotherton was asked “with the demand, you could easily sell 3000 tickets.” He responded, “Why would we do that?”
Doe Bay Fest offers steeply-discounted tickets for teens, and tickets for children 12 and under are free. It’s a very family friendly event with special activities for kids, multiple venues and beaches, drop-in childcare, and kid-centered acts.
