The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Childrens’ Concert takes place today, Wednesday, August 25, at 1 p.m.
Orcas children will warmly greet Festival musicians with several chants to begin the concert with the guidance of Teaching Artist Monique Mead.
Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann selects repertoire from the concert series to share with her young audience. This concert is uniquely planned for young children. Bring your young ones to hear “the real thing.”
The performance time runs approximately 45 minutes. Courtesy tickets are free, but needed to attend. Call 376-2281.

What an exciting program for our island children – and their parents and grandparents!. This years childrens program was a never to be forgotten experience in real music making. As Chair of MAG ( Music Advocacy Group) I thank all the incredible musicians for the thoughtful time they gave to the exciting opportunity to introduce our island children to the joy of music-making. We all learned something! We were delighted to be a part of a memorable afternoon of music-making.
