Join  the celebration of Native Plant Appreciation Week and International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 16.

Bob Lemmon and Barbara Jensen will lead a half-day field trip on San Juan Island. The official Native Plant Appreciation Week and International Migratory Bird Day are a bit sooner but it is the height of spring bird migration and what is better than singing birds and native wildflowers!

This is a good event to learn more about the amazing diversity of Washington’s over 3,000 native plant species that inhabit deserts, rain forests, high alpine environments, river valleys, and even backyard landscapes and hear the wonderful spring chorus of bird song.

Meet in front of The Whale Museum at 8:30 to car pool. For more information call: 378-3068.
