Thursday, May 8 at 5 p.m. at the Community Church

By Sue Lewis

The Cancer Support Group will meet on Thursday, May 8 at 5:00 pm, in the Fireside Room of Orcas Island Community Church. This is a confidential no-cost group that meets on the second Thursday of each month.  It is available to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer in any way.  All are welcome.

This month we will discuss how our emotions play a large part in the way we manage our daily lives.  Feelings of hope, joy and peace are easy to live with.  When life eventually brings fear, loss or grief, it’s not so easy.   Bogdan Kulminski, with the knowledge he acquired when he earned his psychology degree at Rutgers University, will lead a discussion on how we can best deal with these emotions that invariably become part of our journey. When we have unwelcome negative feelings, we can recognize they are part of the normal process of moving through traumatic events.  After acknowledging the appropriateness of our feelings, we can work our way back to a life filled with hope

If your life has been touched by cancer in any way, you are invited to join the discussion.  There will also be time for individual sharing.  Call Bogdan or Carol at 376-4198 for more information.
