Monday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 18, 5 p.m., Senior Center
— from Paul Kamin for Eastsound Water —
Eastsound Water is announcing two special meetings of the membership in March. The Board is in the process of revising the Association’s Bylaws, Operating Rules and Membership Agreements and is anxious to get feedback from the membership. The policy documents were last updated in 2009.
The meetings will be held at the Orcas Senior Center at 5 p.m. on Monday March 16, and again on Wednesday March 18.
The proposed changes will impact both existing and future members. Discussion will include voting rights, how memberships are transferred, changes to who can serve on the Board, and a new process for implementing future revisions to the Bylaws.
Members are strongly encouraged to attend.
After 15 years at the helm of Eastsound Water General Manager Paul Kamin has announced that he is planning on leaving Orcas at the end of 2020. A search process has been initiated to hopefully have the next general manager hired in the coming months to allow an extended transition over the second half of the year.
Members can learn more about the Special Meetings, the General Manager job opportunity, and the proposed Bylaws changes at the News section of Eastsound Water’s website.
Hard copies of the proposed policy documents and the General Manager’s job description are available at the EWUA office. Anyone interested in the General Manager’s job can also contact the Board via email at careers@eastsoundwater.org.
