Caroline Buchanan will teach two weekend workshops the end of the month to help people head into “the quiet time” on Orcas with the skills and the enthusiasm to enjoy painting this winter.
The first, Brushing Up on Your Watercolor Techniques, will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26 at Orcas Island Arts Studio, 10-4. Watercolors are best created using all of the different processes, as needed. The weekends is a review of the why and the how with plenty of time to practice: working wet, wet-blending small areas, glazing, brush handling and negative painting, creating a painting in the process.
The second weekend, November 1-2, is Pouring Paint; an entirely different way of working in watercolor. It is flying by the seat of your pants at times but you can achieve results impossible any other way. It is messy and fun. Same location and time.
Both workshops are limited to 8 for enough space and plenty of individual attention. More information can be found on-line at https://www.buchananwatercolors.com/classes.cfm including supplies and driving directions. Questions, feel free to call Caroline at 376-5509. The cost of each weekend is $140.
