Always working to instill and nourish the joy of reading, Darvill’s Bookstore once again joined the Orcas School District and the PTSA in celebrating National Children’s Book Week in May.
Children’s book authors and illustrators held interactive presentations with the students and a book sale lasted the full week. Darvill’s worked with publishers and distributors to pull together a full selection of quality recommended books to be sold at the sale and 20% of sales were donated to the School Library.
The teachers also played a vital role in creating their own “Wish Lists” of books they would love to have in their classrooms and family and friends gifted them to the school.
The event was a great success and everyone looks forward to next years Spring Book Fair.
