Experience a poetry reading and an intimate conversation on loss, hope and the creative process with award-winning poet Jill McCabe Johnson, artists Kate Geddes & Martha Farish, and moderator/author Ayn Gailey at Orcas Center Black Box on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 6p.m

Jill’s latest poetry collection, “Tangled in Vow & Beseech,” has been published by MoonPath Press. Named a finalist for the Sally Albiso Poetry Award and Michigan State University’s Wheelbarrow Books Poetry Prize, this is Jill’s third poetry book.
Poet Derek Sheffield writes, “Through an array of poetic forms, Jill McCabe Johnson explores a deep sense of interconnectedness. These lyric tangles help us grapple with a life where the ugliest abuses of person and planet occur alongside a mother’s love for her son, the grace of childhood innocence, the anniversary of a first kiss, and the understanding that “in this land” of “dogwood blossom, swordfern and fen” is ‘everything’ we need to ‘believe.'”
This is an Orcas Island Public Library sponsored event, supported by HALO + Orcas Center + Darvill’s Bookstore with special thanks to Orcas Island Public Library volunteer Tom McDonough.
Refreshments will be served. RSVP here to help the organizers plan: https://fb.me/e/88TfbtmWu
