Barb Jensen, San Juan Audubon Society member, plans on a last-minute “Birding by Ear” class on Orcas Island on Friday, May 22.
Jensen says, ” I plan on doing this class a bit differently than the first class I did on SJ. I’ve shortened up the lecture portion and will do it while out in the field. As it is more in the field and a bit shorter, I am dropping the price to $20.”
Those interested in attending are asked to bring binoculars and a bird identification book. Dress for being outside, bring a snack, water and sunscreen.
On Friday, the class will meet at the ferry dock at 7:30 a.m. The class will end about 12:15 p.m., again at the ferry dock.
” If it is just pouring or extremely windy I will cancel. The day should be great though!” says Jensen.
The classes are sponsored by San Juan Islands Audubon Society. For further information, contact Jensen at skylark@rockisland.com or (360) 378-3068 .
