Led by local birder Tyler Davis, the Bird Walks will take place on the first Wednesday of each month through October, offering participants an opportunity to observe and learn about the island’s birdlife in a guided setting while enjoying the art-filled environment of the park.
Scheduled dates are April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7.
The Sculpture Park’s 20-acre landscape includes open meadows, wooded trails and access to Westcott Bay and provides habitat for a wide variety of bird species throughout the spring, summer and early fall.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Dogs are permitted on leash and attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars and dress for the weather.
The San Juan Islands Sculpture Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Donations not required but appreciated. The park is located at 9083 Roche Harbor Road on San Juan Island. For more information, visit www.sjisculpturepark.com.
