About Jay
Jay Kimball is an engineer and climate sustainability consultant focused on the intersection of global environmental trends and local community resilience. As founder of 8020 Vision, he helps organizations understand long-range climate impacts and develop climate action, resilience, carbon reduction, and sustainability strategies.
Jay also serves on the Board of Directors for Island Rides, where he advocates for affordable clean transportation for seniors, people with disabilities and food banks across the islands.
In San Juan County, Jay was a primary architect of the county's Climate Vulnerability Assessment and has worked to integrate a climate lens into the County's Comprehensive and Climate Action Plans, serving on the Climate and Sustainability Advisory Committee, including a term as Chair.
He consults for OPALCO on long-range planning and clean energy grants, and represents local interests on clean affordable local transportation with the Washington Department of Commerce Transportation.
Through his "Earthrise" series and frequent community presentations, Jay continues to foster a regional conversation on climate action.
