Estimate property tax amounts for levies on the 2026 November 3 ballot
||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS |||
The Assessor’s Office created a “Levy Transparency Tool” to help voters understand how levy propositions affect taxes. The tool includes summaries of levy propositions on the upcoming ballot and a comparison of the current tax amount and the estimated new tax amount if the proposition passes.
Find the tool on the Assessor’s website: https://www.sanjuancountywa.
To explore the estimated tax changes for your property, open the tool in your web browser and enter your property’s assessed value. Select a taxing district proposition on your current ballot.
The amount of change shown for a proposed levy is estimated using current assessed values. The actual amount for each levy won’t be finalized until January after final assessed values, new construction, and budget certifications are complete.
Taxing Districts with propositions on the 2026 November 3 ballot for the 2027 tax year are:
- San Juan County Fire Protection District No. 4 (Lopez)
- Orcas Island Park and Recreation District
- Lopez Island Solid Waste Disposal District
For details on how the taxing district plans to use these funds, see the official ballot measure language or reach out to the taxing district’s governing body.
