Rummage Sale: February 15, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Olga Store
— from Olga Store Friends —
The ten month journey to community ownership was made possible by hundreds of donations totaling over $675,000, and the work of board members and volunteers from near and far. Friends of The Olga Store Building 501(c)(3) board members are Colleen Stewart, Gay Paresky, Selby Lighthill, Debbie Durand, Oshen Schiweck, Bizzy Riley, and Frank Martin. Fundraiser Chelsea Thorpe, and many community members helped organize and call in pledges to make this dream come to fruition.
It took community to buy and it will take community to build! Friends of The Olga Store Building is now entering Phase 3: Renovation. We’re calling in donations of time, skill, money, and low-interest loans.
We are fixing the roof with a generous donation, applying for permits, negotiating leases with USPS and the Co-op, hiring a surveyor and architect, taking bids from contractors, seeking volunteers, applying for Historical Preservation designation and preparing for upcoming fundraisers.
Architect Ben Trogden, who designed the Artworks building rebuild, has been hired to draft plans for renovations.
Join us for a Rummage Sale February 15th from 8-4 at The Olga Store, where we will open the doors to the public for the first time in a decade!
We are calling for donated items to be dropped off on February 11th and 12th from 12-5 at The Olga Store.
