||| FROM SAN JUAN MAKERS GUILD |||
Orcas is filled with extra creativity this time of year. Busy hands are making wonderful gifts and decorations that will be for sale at a variety of pop-up venues.
So many places to shop for great things!
While familiar traditions continue – new events are happening over the coming weeks. The pop-up Community Makery at Orcas Center starts off the celebration as a fun place to make decorations and learn to make the Mexican Holiday tradition of Tamales. Sign up for Makery classes at https://sanjuanmakersguild.com/wintermakery/
To help select and plan for your shopping adventures, the Makers Guild presents an online village and farm Community Calendar at https://sanjuanmakersguild.com/winter22/ .

Merry Magic to You!

Thank you, Marcy and Stephen, for bringing these events to public notice! One of the conundrums of modern life is the tension between supporting LOCAL makers versus Amazon prime and sweatshop/slave labor with free shipping! It’s a bit tired, but seriously, SHOP LOCAL !
The second to last sentence claims that all events listed on the calendar link are Makers Guild events. This is 100% not true. Most of the listed events are sponsored and managed by completely different entities, some who have publicly tried to make it clear that they are in no way associated with the Makers Guild.
Thank you to each group who supplied their own listing information for the Holiday Calendar linked to above at https://sanjuanmakersguild.com/winter22/ . It takes a Village to build a Community Calendar that benefits our amazing Makers and appreciated buyers alike. Have a great weekend supporting Orcas Makers at all of the different events.
In the future, if you have a Maker event to add to the countywide calendar, the link is at https://sanjuanmakersguild.com/activities/ .
